Sanjay Nirupam Criticises Congress, Backs Women’s Reservation Bill and Welcomes Bihar Leadership Change !!

Date:

NAGPUR, MAHARASHTRA — Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Nirupam on April 15 addressed multiple political developments, strongly criticising the Congress party’s stance on the Women’s Reservation Bill, while also welcoming the leadership transition in Bihar.

Speaking in Nagpur, Nirupam alleged that the Congress party has increasingly taken positions that are out of sync with the broader sentiment of the country. He claimed that the party is no longer aligned with what he described as the “pulse of the nation,” particularly on key legislative reforms. Referring to the Women’s Reservation Bill, he said that while there is widespread support for the initiative across the country, the Congress party appears to be opposing it, raising questions about its political approach.

On the Women’s Reservation Bill, Nirupam expressed strong support and described it as a transformative step in India’s democratic framework. He noted that the bill, which proposes 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies, could significantly enhance women’s participation in politics.

Highlighting its potential impact, he said that the implementation of the bill could result in around 273 women members in the Lok Sabha, marking a substantial increase in representation. He added that such a move would bring meaningful change by ensuring that women have a stronger voice in legislative decision-making and governance.

Nirupam подчеркнул that the country is witnessing enthusiasm and optimism around the bill, with many viewing it as a long-awaited reform that could reshape the political landscape. According to him, the initiative reflects a broader commitment to gender equality and inclusive governance.

Turning to developments in Bihar, Nirupam commented on the appointment of Samrat Choudhary as the new Chief Minister. He acknowledged the contributions of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, noting that his nearly two-decade-long tenure played a significant role in the state’s development, particularly in areas such as women’s empowerment and law and order.

Nirupam expressed hope that the new BJP-led leadership in Bihar would continue the progress made under Nitish Kumar, maintaining momentum in development and governance. He подчеркнул the importance of continuity in policy and administration to ensure sustained growth in the state.

He further stated that Bihar’s development trajectory is crucial not only for the state but also for the broader national progress, given its size, population, and socio-economic significance.

The remarks come amid a period of heightened political activity, with debates intensifying over key reforms such as women’s reservation and leadership changes in major states. Political leaders across parties have been actively presenting their positions, reflecting the significance of these issues in shaping the current political discourse.

Sanjay Nirupam’s statements from Nagpur combine strong political criticism with support for major policy initiatives, highlighting the ongoing debates over representation, governance, and development in India’s evolving political landscape.
