Pyare Khan Flags Concerns in Amravati Case, Comments on Nashik Conversion Allegations…

Date:

NAGPUR, MAHARASHTRA — Minority Commission Chairman Pyare Khan on April 15 addressed two sensitive issues in Maharashtra, including the Amravati obscene video case and allegations of religious conversion linked to an IT company in Nashik.

Speaking about the Amravati case, Khan said that he received a confidential complaint from individuals in Achalpur, following which he contacted the local Superintendent of Police (SP) to verify the matter. According to him, initial findings indicated the involvement of eight Muslim women, with photographs of six and videos of two reportedly recovered during the investigation.

He further stated that some digital evidence, including photos and videos, had allegedly been deleted by the accused, suggesting attempts to tamper with or conceal material related to the case. Authorities, he said, are currently taking action based on the available information.

Khan подчеркнул that the situation is sensitive, particularly given the local context, and warned of the potential for communal tension if the matter is not handled carefully. He noted that there is a possibility of unrest or law-and-order issues, stressing the need for a cautious and responsible approach by both authorities and the public.

On a separate issue, Khan addressed allegations of sexual harassment and religious conversion linked to an IT company in Nashik. He stated that forced religious conversion is not a concept within Islam, responding to concerns raised in connection with the case.

He also referred to steps taken by the Maharashtra government under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, noting that a legal framework addressing religious conversion has been introduced in the state. According to him, such measures are aimed at ensuring transparency and preventing misuse or coercion.

Khan emphasized that both cases require thorough investigation and adherence to legal procedures, highlighting the importance of maintaining social harmony while addressing serious allegations. He called for restraint and responsible communication to avoid escalation of tensions.

The remarks come amid heightened attention on law-and-order issues in Maharashtra, with authorities closely monitoring developments in sensitive cases. Officials have reiterated the importance of maintaining peace and ensuring that justice is delivered through proper legal channels.

Pyare Khan’s statements underscore the need for careful handling of sensitive matters, balancing investigation and enforcement with the broader objective of preserving communal harmony and public order.
