Gandhinagar (Gujarat): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum in Gandhinagar, highlighting the importance of preserving India’s rich cultural heritage while working towards modern national development.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that India’s progress must be guided by a balance between ancient values and contemporary aspirations, which together form the foundation of nation-building. He noted that the country’s civilizational heritage provides the moral and cultural strength required to achieve the vision of a developed India.

Modi recalled several national resolutions he had previously urged citizens to adopt, including water conservation, maintaining cleanliness, promoting ‘Vocal for Local’, and extending support to the poor and underprivileged. He emphasized that these initiatives are not just government programmes but collective responsibilities that require participation from every citizen.

“Nation-building becomes stronger when people come together with a sense of duty,” the Prime Minister said, adding that such initiatives reflect a growing awareness and commitment among citizens toward the country’s progress.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that institutions like the Samrat Samprati Museum play a vital role in preserving historical memory and inspiring future generations. According to him, celebrating India’s legacy helps strengthen cultural identity and instills pride among young people.

Modi said the ongoing efforts across the country—from environmental conservation to promoting local industries—represent a shared cultural awakening. He expressed confidence that these collective actions will create a strong and sustainable foundation for India’s future.

The newly inaugurated museum is expected to serve as an important cultural and educational centre, showcasing the life and legacy of Samrat Samprati, a prominent Mauryan emperor known for his contributions to governance and religious tolerance.

The Prime Minister concluded by reiterating that the spirit of unity, cultural awareness, and public participation will play a crucial role in achieving the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ in the coming decades.
