Maharashtra to Get First NCC Academy in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar; Drone Hub Near Completion in Nagpur…

Date:

MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA — Major General Vivek Tyagi, Additional Director General of the Maharashtra NCC Directorate, has outlined key developments aimed at strengthening training infrastructure for the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in the state.

Speaking in Mumbai, Tyagi highlighted that infrastructure has long been a major challenge for NCC operations in Maharashtra, particularly in cities like Mumbai, where despite having multiple NCC groups, a dedicated training academy is still lacking.

He announced that Maharashtra’s first NCC academy is now being developed in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, marking a significant milestone for cadet training in the state. The project has received additional funding from the government, and Tyagi expressed confidence that the academy will be fully operational within the next two years.

He emphasised that the new facility will play a crucial role in enhancing training standards and providing structured infrastructure for cadets, benefiting thousands of young participants across Maharashtra.

In addition to this, Tyagi also spoke about advancements in modern training capabilities, particularly in the field of technology. He revealed that a drone training hub in Nagpur is nearing completion, with infrastructure development already underway.

According to him, necessary approvals have been granted and key assets have been deployed at the site, bringing the project close to becoming fully functional. He noted that Army, Navy, and Air Force NCC units are actively procuring different types of drones, reflecting a shift towards modern, tech-driven training methods.

Tyagi подчеркнул that integrating drone technology into NCC training will equip cadets with contemporary skills, aligning them with evolving defence and security requirements.

These developments come as part of broader efforts to modernise NCC training and improve infrastructure across the country, ensuring that cadets receive both traditional and advanced skill-based training.

The establishment of the NCC academy and the upcoming drone hub signal a significant push towards upgrading training facilities in Maharashtra, combining infrastructure development with modern technological capabilities.
